Environmental permitting for a new organic waste treatment plant

Redaction of an Environmental Monitoring Document as part of the authorisation process for the composting plant for the municipality of Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples, IT)

The service carried out refers to the analysis of the documentation submitted during the application for the Integrated Environmental Authorisation, to the integrations submitted during the Conference of Services, and to the production of the documentation necessary for the drafting of the Verifica di Sussistenza (VdS) document (a type of environmental monitoring document required by the italian legislation), as required on page 5, paragraph 13 of the DD n°292 of 14/12/2021 "Integrated Environmental Authorisation for an IPPC 5 plant. 3.a "Plant for the disposal of non-hazardous waste > 50 tons/day" to be located in Via Passatiello - Pomigliano d' Arco (NA)".

The document analyses the possibility of soil or groundwater contamination by the new installation, the presence of relevant hazardous substances and thus of the obligation to proceed with the drafting of the reference report, pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 1, letter c), in relation to such substances.

In the case of the Pomigliano D'Arco composting plant, the absence of such a risk was verified and therefore the absence of the need for a specifc report was certified.
