Our founder was invited as a speaker at the European FOG Summit held in Brighton (UK).
Raffaele presented the benefits obtained by water companies through the application of innovative technologies for sewerage management. It was also an opportunity to insist on the other two areas in which Nisida is active, trade effluent and food service establishments monitoring and environmental awareness raising.
The dialogue with the rest of the panel highlighted the importance of setting up a programme to monitor the effluents of restaurants and hotels in order to prevent the illegal dumping of organic residues, particularly oils and fats. Finally, the importance of raising awareness of water users was emphasised, both private and commercial, in order to prevent the use of the sewerage system for the disposal of oils and greases.
The issues generated by FOG are therefore preventable through the combined implementation of innovative technologies, efficient control programmes and constant end-user awareness raising.
